When I see the word "equity" I think of the tools my students need to succeed. I then think about the students in my class who do not have access to these tools. To me, "culturally responsive teaching" means bridging this gap. Culturally responsive teaching is ensuring that ALL students have the same tools that are needed to succeed. The two terms are inextricably linked.
